This is definitely something I wasn’t expecting. I still have my blog from way back. I guess it’s time to update everything since the last time I posted. Btw I still don’t provide relevant info and it all still about me just putting my thoughts to the digital canvas. Read the rest of this entry »

Musings- AVATAR Review

December 18, 2009

well I think this review is a few hours old according to the east coast, and I will try not to spoil anything for y’all, but here it goes:

this movie I cannot begin to describe, I would have to say first and foremost, that if you are turned off by fantasy movies, then, think again. This single movie even though it was 2 hrs. 45 min. long does not seem that long at all. It has everything you would expect from an action/fantasy movie plus more.

speaking for myself, I would have to say that watching this movie is like watching a movie as a kid again, where everything you see in front of you on the screen is new, again. I really don’t think Mr. Cameron has missed any plot points, I can agree that some physics wasn’t explained but that is the magic of film making, you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone. I went Expecting a masterpiece and that is exactly what I got. the Na’vi the strange blue aliens in this movie are so well done you almost feel like they are real people who are just acting. the world that you get to see through the screen is one that will make anyone’s hair stand on end, the amount of work put in to make it real and feel alive is something to brag about. Not only was all the CG (computer generated) graphics spot on, but the voice acting and motion capture was as well. the sheer amount of talent in this movie is also staggering. everyone works well on-screen, and the set design with the real actors is very believable.

this movie is something of its own, it is a movie that stands tall and says I am here.Every dollar I spent seeing this in 3D was well spent. the depth that the 3D glasses give you helps so much with the depth of the movie, even if #d isn’t perfect it adds so much to the experience, I would never like to see this movie any other way.

Now I daresay that this movie isn’t for everyone, if you don’t like great acting, action sequences, CG that blows your mind and then some, with a bit of flair and pizzazz, then don’t go see it, everyone that can see this movie should see it at least once. Hands down this movie will spend a long time at the top of “movies to watch list” for a long time.

I’ll go with the Ebert and Roper review on this and say “two thumbs way up!”

and anyone else a  ***** out of 5

it was come to my attention that there are many games for the PS3 some of which are not the worst and not the best, so i’ve done away with the hassle of trying out each game, cause i’ve already done that for you. here is my take and list of games out and that will be coming out, that you will probably need to go out and buy:

life

I don’t pretend to be someone I’m not, I learned that I long time ago. It doesn’t take a strong-willed person to admit that they are wrong or not being who they are, it just takes a person who doesn’t care about what or who they are to find out who they truly are. I write this because I have some to realize a few things. I might be 21 that might account for something since many of the worlds great minds in science, arts, culture, mathematics, and so on. Have done something with their lives that have made them who they are. Made them famous, or not, even after death. Some died old and some died young. I can’t say what I am because I really don’t know right now, according to the world I should know cause I’m in my third year of college. I have this pull towards art, but is that really what I am going to do want to do 10, 20 years from now?

All that stuff is really just fluff in the spice of life, for me at least. Some people say that life needs to be lived, you haven’t done that till you done certain things, be that drugs, driving fast, or traveling to a place on this planet that you have wanted to go your whole life. Now speaking for myself I must say that traveling to Italy right after graduation, was a great experience for me. It has enriched my life so that I have a better look at what is going on around me. Really, though, after I think about it, my life still seems incomplete. As of this writing I have no job I’m going to school thanks to my saintly parents, and trying to become a someone in a world that is fast, changing around me. I haven’t done something in my life and I can feel it, eventually I would like to me a married man , but apparently that will be some time from now. I would like to have a kid, but getting married would have to come first, according to “old-fashioned” doctrine. I plan on making the best of the title Starving Artist, but I fear that I won’t make it that far.

I don’t plan on making a memoir of my life, even if I become something of note. I only wish to be a happy person, with a life I am proud to have lived, I don’t care about living in the Matrix, or fancy cars, huge houses (who even needs that many rooms), or the flashy titles. I want to enjoy life with the person I love, in a house that I love and have put something into, be hard work or a family. I don’t ask for much but what I ask for is simple things, and something to leave behind that people can say that I did, even if it is something small it doesn’t have to change the world or change the way people think, I just want people to know that I existed. Apparently the only way I know how to do that is to make art.

This might very well be the one thing that I leave behind that people find, and all they can say is, “wow this person understood what was going on, or at least he thought he did.” I don’t claim to have all the answers, and I hope this isn’t copying anything or anyone, I would rather not plagiarize.

The last thing I would like to say is if anyone would like to say something about this go right ahead, life is full of unanswered questions, and no, one person has all the answers,(and yes God or any other holy or unholy being is exempt)
